Japanese fireworks, named ‘tezutsu hanabi‘, are one of the country’s oldest traditions. It all began in the city of Toyohashi, and since then fireworks have been made by hand from bamboo, with men holding the lit cylinders for the duration of the ceremony. Japanese photographer Hidenobu Suzuki wished to capture this spectacle on camera. His photos notably show men surrounded by flames, under a shower of sparks.
