Jomon to Return to Maison de la Culture du Japon à Paris

Twenty years later, the Maison de la Culture du Japon à Paris is to restage its exhibition dedicated to the prehistoric Jomon period which lasted over ten thousand years, from 11,000 BC to 400 BC. Characterised by its artistic aesthetic and spiritual freedom, the epoch remains influential in contemporary culture.
Numerous archeological objects that sit between the intersection of art and craftsmanship, including some classified as national treasures, or significant cultural objects, will be on display. Such objects include dogu figurines, earthenware vases, woven wooden baskets, ornaments accessories and pottery.
