Hiro Goto, an Ode to Japan in the Age of Instagram

©Hiro Goto
Hiro Goto is on a mission to share the beauty of Japan across social media. Since the creation of his Instagram account in January 2016, the photographer has posted over 1000 photos of his country, with a particular predilection for Tokyo, where he lives.
Through his account we rediscover the Japanese capital through the season, with its neon lights, dense crowds, unique streets, metro system, its autumnal palette or its blooming cherry trees. However Goto doesn’t solely focus on the city, his followers are also treated to snapshots of less familiar scenes taken during his travels. He features poetic images of bridges of train lines in Tadami covered in snow, water falls in Oshiraji, a single swan in front of the Mount Fuji, or snow monkeys in the Jigokudani park. Hiro Goto offers a photographic ode to Japan, and an indispensible image bank for anyone with a passion for his country.
