Takashi Yasui: The Photographer Revealing Unknown Japan

©Takashi Yasui
In 2012, Takashi Yasui published his first photo on Instagram and then his work has become renowned all over the world. He describes himself as a photographer revealing unknown Japan, choosing to portray robustly Japanese subjects in its raw form, sincere and untouched with an aesthetic straddling street art.
As we discover his work, we also discover a Japan that is simultaneously both modern and ancient. It is a voyage that transports us from the bamboo forests of Sagano in Kyoto to the Ariake Sea in Nagasaki, or streets bustling with tourists, to landscapes waiting to be explored.
