The Photographer Immortalising Tokyo’s Taxi Drivers

©Oleg Tolstoy
He named this series ‘Who’s Driving Tokyo?‘. Photographer Oleg Tolstoy is fascinated by Tokyo’s taxi drivers, who are often well-dressed and sophisticated. The faces seen through the windscreen are dreamy, reflective, sometimes even baffled. To capture these photos, Oleg spent eleven nights in the districts of Shibuya and Shinjuku. This series allows viewers to study the human faces that passengers tend to forget, paying homage to these behind-the-scenes workers.
