Chanel Names Star Ballerina Nozomi Iijima as Ambassador

As a means of enforcing its iconic brand image, Chanel makes a point of choosing models that reflect its aesthetic. The label’s latest muse is none other than Nozomi Iijima, a dancer from Osaka, Japan. She was chosen for their last campaign ‘Code Coco’, released last August.

Nozomi Ijima started ballet at the age of 6, and began classical training before, focusing on modern and contemporary dance. She moved to the United States at the age of 15 to pursue her dream, and to great success; she became the first ballet soloist at the Houston Ballet in Texas, after nearly a decade with the company institution (save from a one-year detour to Zurich).

The Japanese dancer, with a sophisticated and graceful look, took office as a beauty ambassador in January, alongside the model Koki.
