Giddy Up, the New Japanese Brand Seeking to Make 3D Printing More Accessible

Created in 2018 by designers Mikio Sakabe and Yusuke Hotchi, Giddy Up, the new Japanese brand based in Tokyo, is preparing to take over the fashion world.

‘Giddy-up’ is a term used by horse riders to make their horse go faster, explain the avant-garde duo. It’s therefore a metaphor for their approach, as they wish to ‘speed up the understanding of the issues linked to the use of 3D printers in the fashion world’. 

As well as their clothing collection, the Japanese brand also offers futuristic accessories (also 3D-printed). The ‘ugly shoe’ has been the standout accessory of 2018, so the two designers decided to jump on this and offer whimsical, unusual shoes, making them the central feature of their collection.

With this label, Mikio Sakabe and Yusuke Hotchi want to look to the future. Giddy Up is a daring brand with an approach and designs that are particularly unique and original. Which is a significant asset to offer in a world where uniformity reigns…
