Sacai: Setting Sportswear Aside to Revisit Classic Pieces

©Sacai
Known for its sportswear, iconic Japanese brand Sacai is abandoning its loose-fit garments for new, more structured, slimmer shapes, which can be seen in its latest collections.
From the very beginning, Chitose Abe, founder of Sacai, has taken great enjoyment from dissecting garments and reinventing them. Adored for its hybrid character, Sacai makes asymmetry the focal point of its creations. From the classic trench coat to military jackets or shirts with plastrons, Chitose Abe revisits several timeless classics, and the result is fantastic.
The male and female wardrobes are as one, thus making the Sacai woman more powerful than ever. The whole thing is underscored by a remarkable technical quality, so typical of the work of Chitose Abe. The designer has therefore decided to put her athleisure pieces and trainers aside… for now, at least.
