Yohji Yamamoto and Dr. Martens Drop a New Collaboration

yohji yamamoto×Dr.Martens DOUBLE MONK STRAP SHOES
In fashion, few collaborations are as long lasting as long as that between Dr. Martens, the iconic British shoe brand, and Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto. This time round, they are releasing a model which incorporates both avant garde design and classic Dr. Martens models, with a reworking of The Derby.
Slightly rounder, this new model consists of two adjustable straps and a black buckle. Colour-wise, the designer has stuck with a deep black that is slightly more matte than the original model, with a softer leather. The yellow stitching, a signature feature for the English brand, have been removed from the sole and instead feature on the top of the shoe for a much more discreet design.
Since 2008, the two brands have together reinvented some iconic models of Dr.Martens, such as the 1490 or the Chelsea Boot, both of which have enjoyed tremendous success. This new capsule collection was released on January 30th, via Yohji Yamamoto’s limited edition website.
