Over the course of more than four hundred years, the city of Takaoka has built a reputation for excellence in working with copper, tin and brass. The artisans at Nousaku are glad to participate in preserving traditions. But they also make it their daily task to seek to take on new technical challenges and propel themselves into the future of the discipline.

Perhaps inspired by the American-Japanese franchise Transformers, the bowls and pan holders in their KAGO (kago is Japanese for basket) range change shape… with a ‘cry’ produced by this structural transformation.

In the 1700s, Lavoisier declared that ‘everything is transformed’. Now, Nousaku is bringing (meta)physics to the table.
