Finally, Chic Cat Accessories for your Home

Thanks to the Japanese design agency Rinn, both felines and their owners can have the elegant habitats that they deserve. Rinn has created a cat tree house that is both minimalist and modern with a pared down silhouette. The product is the fruit of the desire to distance itself from commercial animal accessories and the often crude, haphazard forms that they take on. The idea was to create an object so beautiful it could be displayed in a museum.
Mission accomplished. The Neko cat tree house by designer Yoh Komiyama, is composed of maple, oak and beech from the Hida Forest (an area of central Japan known for its woodworking) and is constructed by hand by a local artisan, Masaaki Ito.
Built upwards and created in natural tones, it allows light to pass through the structure with multiple openings. The cylindrical form is connected to a stand in Greek marble with a hemp rope, included to take the brunt of the scratching and easily replaceable once worn down. It must be noted however that such craftsmanship comes at a price, a price of approximately £7000. It is therefore worth asking the question, who will be more pleased by its presence, cat or owner?
