Tadao Ando’s Architectural Masterclass at the Centre Pompidou

Internationally renowned for his concrete structures, Tadao Ando considers light to be the primordial tool of an architect. Highly decorated for his work on material and space, his work is coming to Europe to the Centre Pompidou.
The Osaka native aimes to construct silent spaces. According to him, big cities throughout Japan are frequently zones of tension where we are overwhelmed by noise. His creations are calm spaces, created with serenity and rest in mind. Naturally, one of his major buildings is a church, located in Ibaraki where the apparent simplicity gives way to a minutious work where the light is manipulated in incredible ways. His exhibition at the Centre Pompidou will present his career and the innovations he has developed through maquettes, sketches, drawings and videos. All of this, without making a sound.
