Stardust, Yokohama’s Vintage Bar
View this post on Instagram
At night in Yokohama, a city just south of Tokyo, a neon sign catches the eye. Once you enter Bar Stardust, the time machine springs into gear and takes you back to the 1960s.
This bar and the decor inside haven’t changed in over fifty years. The jukebox and exceptional cocktails attract a strong clientele of regulars who enjoy the old-fashioned atmosphere. The most loyal customers even get to have their name on their favourite bottle.
This modest neighbourhood bar has become a warm refuge which resists the ravages of time. The ceiling is covered with vinyl records and posters of pin-ups from the era adorn the walls, watching over the customers as they lean against the counter which has only been enhanced with time, or sit on the worn, black leather seats.
